Canada's format is one of the largest in the world — about twice the area of the standard 35 × 45 mm. Both share the same 5:7 ratio; our export is 591 × 827 px at 300 DPI, printed twice per application.

Canada quirks worth knowing

Two printed photos: in-person and mail applications ask for 2 identical unaltered prints; print our 591 × 827 file at 300 DPI twice on one 4 × 6 sheet.
Online renewal is different: renewing online needs a digital photo from a commercial photographer or studio with metadata — check which route you're using before reusing an old file.
Head height is checked: 25–35 mm chin-to-crown on the 50 × 70 print; our framing guidance keeps you inside the band.

Two prints, or a studio file

Canada splits its routes sharply. In-person and mail applications want two identical unaltered prints, so run the 591 × 827 px export at 300 DPI twice onto one 4 × 6 sheet. An online renewal is the opposite — it expects a digital photo carrying commercial photographer metadata, so that route cannot reuse a home crop at all. Work out which door you are going through before you shoot.

Print-pair workflow

The preset opens on the Canadian 50 × 70 mm portrait crop — the largest passport format in common use.
