Bigger than most — and that matters
Canada's 50 × 70 mm format is noticeably larger than the 35 × 45 used by most countries, with the head occupying a smaller share of the frame. Photos cropped to Schengen proportions and stretched to 50 × 70 get rejected for head-size violations — always crop natively in the Canada format, which the tool pre-selects for you.
