Singapore quirks worth knowing

Automated checks: ICA runs biometric verification on submissions (online portal and in person), so head size and background matter more than usual — follow the framing band.
Online first: passport applications are filed through ICA's online portal, so the digital file (400 × 514 px or larger, JPEG) is what gets checked.
Babies: allowed, but the child must be alone in frame, eyes open where possible, nothing covering the face (see the baby photo guide).

Singapore files passport applications through ICA's online portal, so the digital file is the one that gets checked — print a copy only if you are asked for one at collection. The tool pre-selects the ICA 35 × 45 mm portrait crop and exports a 400 × 514 px JPEG at 300 DPI, the size the portal expects.
