Good to know

Most applicants are photographed at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) — if photos are taken on-site you don't need to bring prints. If you supply your own, they must meet exactly the specifications above.
Print ≠ digital confusion: 4.5 × 3.5 cm and 630 × 810 px are the same format expressed two ways (paper vs the Seva upload form). Our tool exports 630 × 810 px, which prints true at 35 × 45 mm.
Heavy beauty filters are a rejection reason — keep skin tone natural.

PSK in person, or Seva upload

Most Indian passport applicants are photographed at the Passport Seva Kendra itself, which means no print is needed — but if you supply your own, it has to match exactly. Online renewal and application forms take a 630 × 810 px JPEG, so our export slots straight into the Seva upload box, while matte 35 × 45 mm prints cover any counter that asks for paper.

Choices before you start
