New Zealand quirks worth knowing

Same format as UK/Schengen: 35 × 45 mm with a light background — a compliant UK or Schengen crop is dimensionally identical, but always check the portal's current checklist before reusing a file.
Online applications: renewals and applications go through the DIA online service; a high-resolution digital file is what matters, and our 600 DPI export clears any minimum.

New Zealand passport applications and renewals go through the Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua) online service, so the digital file is what gets lodged; a print is only needed if you are asked for a counter check. Because the portal takes a high-resolution upload, our 827 × 1063 px export at 600 DPI sits well above any minimum it sets.

Shooting for the DIA upload

The preset opens on the NZ 35 × 45 mm portrait crop with a light background.
