SRT to VTT
HTML5 video on the web uses WebVTT. Many subtitle files arrive as SRT (SubRip), which most browsers will not load directly. The two formats are close: WebVTT needs a WEBVTT header at the top, and it writes a dot rather than a comma before the milliseconds. This converter makes that change both ways, and normalises a byte-order mark and CRLF line endings along the way.

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
SRT (SubRip) and WebVTT are both plain-text subtitle formats. WebVTT is the web standard used by HTML5 video, and it requires a WEBVTT header and uses a dot before the milliseconds; SRT uses a comma.
Does this convert VTT back to SRT?

Is my subtitle file uploaded?

How are line endings and BOM handled?
A byte-order mark is removed and CRLF or CR line endings are normalised to LF before converting.

If no timecode arrow is found, the tool reports that it is not an SRT file rather than producing broken output.
