Indonesia Passport Documents Checklist
An Indonesian passport application is lodged with the Directorate General of Immigration, and the requirements follow Permenkumham RI No. 18 Tahun 2022. This checklist sets out the papers for each case. Verified against the official immigration service page, October 2026.
The 15-second answer
For a new passport you bring a KTP, a Kartu Keluarga, one of four supporting certificates (birth certificate, marriage book, diploma or baptism certificate), and one Rp 10,000 meterai. Replacement, child, damaged, lost and data-change cases have their own sets below.
Legal basis
The requirements come from Permenkumham RI No. 18 Tahun 2022, the regulation cited on the official immigration page.
New passport (Paspor Baru)
- KTP — a valid resident identity card.
- Kartu Keluarga — the family card.
- One of the following four: birth certificate (Akta Kelahiran), marriage book (Buku Nikah), diploma (Ijazah) or baptism certificate (Surat Baptis).
- Meterai Rp 10.000 (×1) — the stamp duty.
- You must confirm you have never held a passport before.
Replacement (Penggantian)
For an old passport issued domestically from 2009 that is undamaged and whose details match your E-KTP:
- KTP.
- Old passport.
- Meterai Rp 10.000 (×2).
Passports issued abroad or from earlier years follow a separate section on the official page.
Child passport (Paspor Anak)
The child passport section asks for, among other items, a copy of the parents' passports and Meterai Rp 10.000 (×2).
Damaged, lost or changed-data passports
- Paspor Rusak — a damaged passport.
- Paspor Hilang — a lost passport.
- Perubahan Data — a change of personal data.
