Solomon Islands Passport Documents Checklist

Solomon Islands passports are issued by the Immigration Division (immigration.gov.sb). This page lists the document types, the forms you file and how long processing takes. Verified against the Solomon Islands Immigration Division, October 2026.

There are six travel-document types: the Ordinary Passport and the ePassport for citizens, the Official and Diplomatic Passports for government officials, the Emergency Certificate for non-citizens who urgently need to return home, and the Travel Identity Document for citizens abroad or infants born overseas. Applications use the passport Application Form, Form A and a Statutory Declaration Form; processing takes at least two weeks.

Forms you file

Applying for an Ordinary Passport

  1. Submit the necessary forms and documents, the application fee, and complete a photo and fingerprint capture.
  2. Processing takes at least two weeks.

Applying for an Official or Diplomatic Passport

  1. Obtain the approved application forms from the Immigration Division website.
  2. Attach the relevant documents and your ordinary passport (if you hold one), and complete the necessary parts of the form.
  3. Submit the form to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Minister or Permanent Secretary's recommendation.
  4. Lodge the application at the Immigration Office for assessment (assessment, vetting, approval, then data and printing).

Processing time

Every service above states a processing time of at least two weeks. Plan for that window before booking travel, and confirm current timing with the Immigration Division when you lodge.

The photograph

For Solomon Islands, the passport photo is captured on site as part of the application (photo and fingerprint capture) — the official pages do not publish a photo size.
