Andorra Passport Photo Requirements
Andorra takes the passport photo in a special photo booth at the office for applicants aged 6 and over. For children under 6, the official procedure asks you to bring a 35 × 45 mm photograph, in colour, on a white background. Verified against the Andorran e-government procedure page (e-tramits.ad), September 2026.
The official specification
| Under 6 | Bring a 35 × 45 mm photo, in colour, white background |
| 6 to 12 | Photo taken in the special photo booth at the office |
| Over 12 | Photo taken in the special photo booth at the office |
| Colour | Colour (for the under-6 photo) |
| Background | White (for the under-6 photo) |
| Number of copies | Not published officially |
| Pixels / DPI | Not published officially |
| Head height | Not published officially |
Because the official page gives only 35 × 45 mm, colour and a white background, do not derive a pixel size, a DPI or a head height from the 35 × 45 mm frame. Where the Andorran page is silent, this guide does not invent a value.
Booth capture vs a photo you bring
The two routes are not interchangeable. From age 6, the photograph is captured in the special booth at the office, so the applicant does not supply a paper photo and the 35 × 45 mm size does not apply. Only for children under 6 does the applicant bring a 35 × 45 mm colour photo on a white background. If you are applying for a child under 6, prepare exactly that; for everyone else, expect the booth.
Preparing the under-6 file
- A 35 × 45 mm colour photo on a plain white background.
- Crop in the browser with the image cropper and check proportions on the photo size chart.
- Review the face and framing on your own device with the passport photo checker.
- Print at physical size with the print sheet, or set exact pixels with the image resizer.
Frequently asked questions
Who needs to bring a photo in Andorra?
Children under 6. The official Andorran procedure page states that for minors under 6 you must bring a photograph of 35 × 45 mm.
What size is the Andorran photo?
35 × 45 mm, in colour, on a white background — but only for applicants under 6. Applicants aged 6 and over have their photo taken in a special photo booth at the office instead.
Is the Andorran photo white background?
Yes. The official wording specifies colour and a white background (fons blanc) for the under-6 photograph.
How many copies do I bring?
Not published. The official page states the 35 × 45 mm requirement for under-6s but does not give a number of copies, so none is asserted here.
What about pixel size, DPI or head height?
None is published. The Andorran page gives only 35 × 45 mm, colour and white background, so pixel size, DPI and head height are not stated here.
Do adults bring a photo?
No. From age 6 upward the official procedure uses a special photo booth at the office, so an applicant-supplied paper photo is not the route for adults.
