Myanmar eVisa Photo Requirements
Myanmar is a rare case where the official photo size is not the usual 35 × 45 mm. The immigration department's eVisa notice asks for one colour photo measuring 4.6 cm × 3.8 cm (46 × 38 mm), taken within the last three months and uploaded with your application. 46 × 38 mm, not 35 × 45 mm
If you have read a "one size fits most of Asia" guide, it will tell you 35 × 45 mm. For Myanmar that is a guess, not the official rule. The official eVisa notice specifies 4.6 × 3.8 cm — a landscape-ish rectangle noticeably different from the 35 × 45 mm portrait used by most of Asia and the Schengen area. Note also the official order of the figures is given as 4.6 × 3.8 cm (width first in the source wording); if your upload is rejected, re-check the orientation against whichever eVisa portal you are using.
Upload it, don't post it
Myanmar's visa is applied for and issued online. You complete the form, upload the photo and a copy of your passport's details page, and receive an approval letter electronically. There is no visa-centre appointment and no fingerprints for the eVisa route, so — unlike a paper application — the photo you upload is the photo they see.
Three-month freshness — and the six-month passport
Two validity clocks run at once. The photo must have been taken within the last 3 months — stricter than the six months many countries allow. Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining. And once the approval letter is issued it stays valid for 90 days: apply too early and the letter can lapse before you travel.
What the official notice does not publish
The official Myanmar eVisa notice we verified states the photo size, the three-month recency, the six-month passport rule and the approval-letter window. It does not publish a head-height ratio, an eye-line position or a background colour. We therefore state none of them here. If you see a Myanmar photo "requirement" quoting a head percentage or a colour, treat it as unofficial unless it cites the immigration department directly.
